We Will Not Cease is a gripping firsthand account of Archibald Baxter, a New Zealander who faced brutal persecution as a conscientious objector during World War I. This profound narrative, originally published in 1939, has been revitalized in a new edition, complete with a foreword by Kevin Clements, and is as timely today as ever. Baxter's harrowing journey began in 1915 when, at the age of 33, he was arrested for his anti-war stance. He endured severe mistreatment by the New Zealand military, being imprisoned, forcibly taken to Europe, and subjected to unimaginable physical and psychological torture. This deeply moving story highlights the extreme sacrifices made by those who oppose violence and war. With clean paperback binding, this edition comprises 216 pages ideal for both avid history readers and those interested in peace studies. Dimensions of 210 x 148 mm make it a perfect addition to any bookshelf or for gifting to someone passionate about military history, peace advocacy, or New Zealand's rich heritage. To oppose the military machine means to accept the possibility that one may be destroyed by it. – Archibald Baxter We Will Not Cease is the unflinching account of New Zealander Archibald Baxter’s brutal treatment as a conscientious objector during World War I. In 1915, when Baxter was 33, he was arrested, sent to prison, then shipped under guard to Europe where he was forced to the front line against his will. Punished to the limits of his physical and mental endurance, Baxter was stripped of all dignity, beaten, starved and left for dead by the New Zealand military. In the final attempt to discredit him authorities consigned him to a mental institution, an experience that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Long regarded as a classic, We Will Not Cease is as relevant now as when it was first published in 1939. This revised edition has a new foreword by Kevin Clements (foundation director of the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies), a brand new cover, and a full index.

Wash before wearing — the dye will run
Size: Small, Color: Royal Blue
Make sure you wash this shirt before wearing. Maybe even two washes. The color WILL run and dye your skin. (I was impatient and wore it before washing and ended up with a blue torso)
Otherwise, it fits well. I’d put it as a regular fit rather than a slim fit. Very soft, albeit synthetic, material.

Good Fit but too long
Size: Medium, Color: Army Green
I would give these shirts a 5 star rating if they weren’t so long over the waist, even a medium sized it doesn’t matter way too long

A T-shirt chic? YES!!
Size: X-Large, Color: Wine Red
This is the second one of these shirts I’ve ordered. I don’t wear ties anymore, so I actually wear this mock turtle neck under a blazer, or a sports coat as my father used to call them. I wore a blue one the other evening and I wore it underneath a plaid blazer. Whoever would guess a T-shirt could be quite so chic. It stretches plenty, it’s light and it’s so comfortable. I have two of them now and I’m deciding on a third one.
