As one of heavy metal's premier bassists, Harris has made himself known across decades delivering Iron Maiden's patented, thunderous, galloping bass lines. Today's Steve Harris Precision Bass model enters as part of Fender's limited edition collection celebrating fifty years of one of Britain's heaviest and most important bands with customized specifications straight from the bassist himself.

For a famously thunderous band, you can imagine the type of bass guitar superpowers required to stack up and deliver on the world's biggest stages. Luckily for us, Harris has been there and back and is here to tell the tale through his personalized and customized P Bass. This all begins, however, with a two-piece maple body taking the classic double-cutaway P Bass form. The model's distinct maple body pick brings with it a unique feel and resonance that differs from your usual alders and ashes. This maple is wrapped up in a silky satin finish for that added element of uniqueness.

Reaching out, this Precision Bass brings on a maple neck in a "U" Shape profile. Exhibiting more shoulder than you might expect out of a P Bass, this bass neck is decked in a gloss finish for added speed and comfort at every position. This maple neck fills out to a fingerboard with a rounded, retro 7.25" radius and twenty Jumbo-sized frets. Simple Black Dot inlays punctuate the board while it remains seamlessly played in marvelously vintage ways.

Serving Iron Maiden's rhythm section might seem like a tall task. With the bold simplicity of this Steve Harris signature, that task gets surprisingly simple. Onboard, this limited edition P Bass features a lone Fender P Bass split single-coil pickup. Capable of producing that all-important rumbling and resonant bass tone to drive the whole band forward, this split-coil pickup plays with classic and reliable Fender thump. This split-coil horsepower is backed up by Fender's sturdy hardware specifications including a four-saddle Vintage-Style bridge, synthetic bone nut, and '70s Vintage-Style stamped open-gear tuning machines.
