Made for players who want a model to truly just be picked up and played, really there's fewer places you can do better than this dazzling P-90 piece.

From the fine luthiers at the Gibson Custom Shop, we're treated to a real red carpet of features for Gibson's iconic single-pickup model. This all begins with a classic SG Junior-style body made from – what else – mahogany. The model's iconic devil-horned form plays as you've always known it with a slim depth easily balanced over the knee or slung over the shoulder and held against the hip. Differing from your usual cherries and ebonies you normally find SGs dressed in, this Gibson Custom piece treats itself to an impressive VOS TV heather poly gloss lacquer finish. VOS, a tier of finish wear meant to only barely age the lacquer's looks, is complemented marvelously by its unique, rose gold-tinted TV heather poly color.

Reaching out, this Custom SG Junior features a mahogany neck in '61 SG profile. This profile fills the hand comfortably and measures from .800" to .900" from its first fret to the twelfth. Matching with a one-piece Indian rosewood fingerboard lined with frets using Gibson's Reissue fret wire, this SG Junior is seamlessly playable to inspire long playing sessions.

A – or perhaps the – main attraction of this Gibson Custom Shop model is its sonic engine. A lone Dogear P-90 drops in with a crisp and punchy profile that barks, breaks the mold, and easily pushes your teetering tube amp over the edge. Old Bumblebee capacitors and Vintage taper potentiometers allow for some deep mixing through this Dogear's lush tones. This electronics setup is backed up by a sturdy hardware setup featuring a Lightning Bar bridge, Kluson tuning machines, and a nylon nut. Traveling with an included hardshell case, this is an SG to follow you anywhere and everywhere.
