The delicate spiderweb lines are made with slipped stitches, as is the two-color section meant to evoke Charlotte’s 514 children ballooning in the wind. This creates a beautiful stitch pattern without the need to work two strands of yarn at a time.
The shawl is knit down and out from the center of the top edge, with increases at the center and sides. It’s finished with a garter stitch border.

Fingering Weight
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Luxury Sock by Sunshine Yarns (nylon, cashmere & merino wool; 113g/385yds): 2 Skeins, 1 of each color. Shown in Radiant and Charlotte
ALTERNATE YARN: Sock by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/440yds): 2 Skeins, 1 of each color. Sock is a plied light fingering weight yarn with the most decadent and saturated colors with slight mottling due to the dyeing process. While this may knit up with less density, the colors makes this a wonderful selection with the easy care of Superwash Merino Wool.
NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4mm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch markers, Tapestry needle
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-slip stitching involved
GAUGE: 12 stitches and 14 rows = 2 inches in stockinette stitch, blocked
