Frederic Boucheron was born into a family of clothiers. And even though he opted to take a different path, he still was able to incorporate the same delicately fluid craftsmanship into his jewelry as his father and grandfather might have into a fine garment. It was for this reason that Frederic was able to eventually open what would be the first great jewelry boutique
on Place Vendôme in 1893, and also why his work would be commissioned and admired by royalty the world over in the decades that followed. Czars, maharajahs, and queens all clamored for the treasures of the celebrated Parisian jeweler and his descendants. A tiara made for British society maven Margaret Greville was eventually inherited by the Queen Mother in 1942, and it remains in the royal family to this day.

This stunning Boucheron bangle from the late 1930s is an Art Deco marvel from the Machine Age.
