As part of the 2025 Martin Standard Series refresh, we welcome back the D-18 with a sleek satin finish. For generations, the famed dreadnought has been featured on numerous recordings and has inspired many. Back and better than ever, the D-18 has been fine tuned for the modern musician.

The 14-fret dreadnought's body is constructed from a solid spruce top and is paired with mahogany back/sides. A tonewood pairing used for decades, the guitar projects a sweet warmth with clarity and focus. To support its top, Golden Era forward shifted scalloped x-bracing is expertly placed to promote a more lively top with enhanced vibration and low end. The body features a satin finish for comfortability and left natural to showcase its unique spruce top and is accented with black binding, old style 18 rosette, and a faux tortoise pickguard.

In traditional Martin fashion, a select hardwood neck with a dovetail neck joint is glued into the body and they meet at the 14th fret. The D-18's new GE Modified Low Oval neck shape features a high performance taper with satin finish. The neck is topped with a thinner ebony fingerboard, 18-style abalone dot inlays, and crowned with 20 frets.

For improved playability, strings are loaded into the Golden Era Modern Belly ebony bridge and are capped with ebony end pins. The strings are then tuned to pitch with the nickel open gear tuners. The D-18's iconic square headstock proudly displays the Martin logo in the script old style overlay font.

Complete with a hardshell case, this refined D-18 serves as the bridge between vintage sound and modern playability.

Perfect
Color: Blue
I am fostering a Husky/Black and Tan Coon dog. We have had her since early February. She has chewed up a lot of my shoes. She destroyed my other dogs stuffed squeaky toys. So I decided to buy her this ball. She reminds me of Linus from Charlie Brown. She wakes up with this ball and falls asleep with it. I’ve not had another shoe fatality. This ball is her most loved possession. It is pretty tough. Now She did kill the squeaker within the first few hours (which trust me I am GOOD with that! I’ve never put treats in it. The rope is still attached. After this review I am going to buy her another as a back up!

Favorite fetch
We have a 70 lb Aussie and a 13 lb Havanese who compete with each other to fetch toys. This hedgehog is their favorite, largely due to the loud assertive squeak. Our big dog is a chewer and has a history of getting to any squeaker in a toy, once nearly choking when successfully removing one from a smaller toy. She still tries to chew on this toy, going straight for the nose but has not yet gotten to the squeaker which is large enough that I don't believe would be a choking hazard if she did get to it. No soft toy is indestructible, but compared to other plush toys, this is more durable. Once the nose has been chewed off, I have simply hand stitched the hole closed and from then on she's no longer interested in chewing through it. Have run through the wash and comes out fine. When one eventually wears out I order a replacement and the 2 puppies compete once again over ownership.

Holding up to my teething 5 month old puppy
All toys are are hard to review as it comes down to the pet. But for what it's worth, this seems well made and is holding up to our teething puppy!
