Description:
The last quarter of a century has seen an unprecedented wave of
democratization around the globe. In these transitions from
authoritarian rule to a more democratic order, the media have
played a key role both by facilitating, but frequently also
inhibiting, democratic practices to take root. This book provides
an accessible and systematic introduction to the media in
transitional democracies. It analyses the problems that occur when
transforming the media into independent institutions that are able
to inform citizens and hold governments to account. The book covers
the following topics:Ă‚Â
normative conceptions of media and democracy;
the role of the past in the transition process;
the internet as a new space for democratic change;
the persistence of political interference in emerging
democracies;
the interlocking power of media markets and political
ownership;
the challenges to journalistic professionalism in
post-authoritarian contexts;
the role of the media in divided societies;
The book takes a global view by exploring the interplay of
political and media transitions in different pathways of
democratization that have taken place in Eastern Europe, Latin
America, Africa and Asia. It will be of interest to advanced
students and scholars who want a better understanding of the media
outside established Western democracies. The book will also be of
great value to policymakers and activists who are involved in
strengthening the media in transitional democracies.

Multiple ports
Style: 20W_USB-C, Size: 10FT
The usb outlet broke within a week of purchase. The rest of the outlets work perfectly. Like that it has multiple ports to plug in.

Thank you VIVO
Color: Black, Size: Standard, Color: Black, Size: Standard
Between these cable management trays and the VIVO under desk UPS mount, I have completely tamed the cables at my desk. No more tangling my feet in cables when I stretch. No more messy, unkept appearance. Even with zip ties, I was never able to get anything close to this. It's truly amazing what the right hardware and a little bit of work can do.
Everything you need is in the box. I do recommend drilling pilot holes, even in particle board or softer wood to make it easier to screw in, but the installation is dead simple and done right, no one will even know these trays are there. I should have done this years ago.

Perfect Solution for Desk Cable Clutter!
Color: White, Size: Standard
I’m super happy with the VIVO 2-pack under-desk cable management trays. They’re exactly what I needed to keep my workspace clean and organized. The 17-inch size is perfect for holding power strips, chargers, and all those messy cords that usually clutter up my desk area.
Installation was a breeze — the trays come with all the screws and clear instructions. I mounted them under my desk in just a few minutes, and they feel really sturdy and well-built. The metal construction looks sleek and durable, and it holds everything without any sagging or bending.
Now my cables are off the floor and totally hidden, which not only looks great but also makes cleaning so much easier. If you’re tired of tangled cords and want a neat setup, these trays are a must-have!
Highly recommend!

Perfect cable management
Color: Black, Size: Standard
I set these up on my sit/stand office/gaming desk and trust me when I say I have a lot of cords, power blocks and what not going on. 2 27" monitors (both have DP and HDMI hooked up), two laptops, PS5, gaming speakers, iPad, docking station, phone charging station...and this thing holds all of the cables, blocks AND the Anker multi-plug with 12 outlets. No cords hanging, everything clean. Super easy to install, I totally recommend this product. I like it so much I bought another one for my girlfriend for her home office to get her all set up. You won't regret it

Use Velcro or Command strips and save yourself money
Color: Black, Size: Standard
These are high quality and are nice additions for the VIVO standing desks. However, they only fit slim power strips. My power strips were too wide to fit these. I ended up just using Velcro and Command strips to attach the power strip under my desk and purchasing cable management wires. In the end, I think it turned out much better than using these cable management trays and also saved me a significant amount of money.
