Although it is primarily grown for this playful, decorative foliage, spikes of delicate, ivory cream coloured downward-facing bell-shaped flowers appear in early to midsummer, adding interest and contrasting beautifully with the dark foliage. Heat tolerant, does best in well-drained soils. The crown of the plant should remain above ground when planting.
