The strength limitations of the 2011-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD/3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD/3500 HD factory steering tie rods are visually apparent by their small size for a heavy-duty truck, especially once larger wheels and tires, suspension lifts, and off-road adventures are added to the equation. These ICON XD Forged Tie Rods remedy this with better materials and beefier dimensions than the stock units, offering significantly increased strength. The inner tie rod and ball stud is CNC machined from 4140 chromoly and upsized to 150% larger diameter than the stock tie rods and complimented by a 35mm diameter, metal on metal inner ball stud for maximum strength. The outer tie rod is forged steel with a beefier 32mm diameter, metal on metal joint that is greaseable for extended service life and has the same range of operating angle as the stock tie rod ends. For the most hardcore of off-roaders, the ICON XD Forged Tie Rod kit is recommended as part of a comprehensive steering system upgrade strategy.
