The Mindful Collection - The customer's knowledge and devotion to the craft inspired the collection to encourage the practice of mindfulness & creativity.  The Knit Pro Creative Group took care to carry forth the look and mood developed for the Mindful Collection Needles by choosing colors, bags, tools and packaging meant to create positive and peaceful feelings. 

  • The color Teal was chosen because of its soothing blue-green tone and its undertones of grey and jade. These are colors of tranquility and renewal, and they blend well with a variety of other shades.  
  • Each needle is laser printed with single meditative word on each needle, one word for each size, in order to encourage focus.  After all, words are powerful. They carry intent.
  • Lastly, Knit Pro is proud of the commitment to the health of the planet. When it came to designing the packaging of the Mindful Collection, Knit Pro chose biodegradable materials and inks to reduce the carbon footprint and reduce wasteful practices involving plastics.

I wanted to educate myself on some of the issues that are presented in this book. If you're looking for just factual case-law and supreme court decisions this is not the book you're looking for. This book presents the cases in a story and gives a lot of detail about what went on in the lives of the people involved in these lawsuits outside of the courtroom. The only thing that I wish would have been talked about in greater detail would be a more in-depth look at the opinions and reasons from the justices that were not voting in favor of the plaintiffs.

Thankfully, women no longer have to pay more for retirement plans, and get lower payouts, than men. Amazing how many different, inventive the ways were in the 1960's to keep women out of jobs. Bless Title VII and the attorneys and clients who fought these battles; we stand on their shoulders. The saddest part is the update, at the end of the book showing how protections against gender discrimination in the workplace have weakened in recent years. In particular, it has become difficult, or nearly impossible, to prove that a hostile work environment exists so long as employers pay lip service to certain ideas and practices and hide what's really going on--which we working women KNOW still goes on, unfortunately.
