Step into the luminous world of Persian illumination, a refined art form that has adorned manuscripts, poetry and sacred texts for centuries. Rooted in Iran’s rich artistic heritage, it combines intricate geometry, flowing floral motifs and symbolic patterns layered with meaning and harmony.

In this hands-on workshop, you will explore both the techniques and the cultural significance behind these designs. Guided step by step, you will create your own illuminated composition using gouache and fine brushes, experiencing the calm focus and meditative rhythm that define this timeless tradition

Please wear clothes suitable for an art studio, and be aware that you will need to take work away with you at the end of the session (please bring a plastic bag or similar, as some work may still be slightly damp).

This class will be taking place at the RWA Drawing School Studio, Royal West of England Academy, BS8 1PX

Refund/transfer and Cancellation Policy: We are unable to offer full or part cash refunds, but you are eligible for an RWA gift voucher or transfer, minus an admin fee*, provided you notify us more than 14 days before the start of your class with us. If we cancel a course or workshop for any reason, then participants will be offered a different date, course/workshop or RWA gift voucher.
