Miajku heeft één doel: zijn vader bewijzen dat hij een geschikte troonopvolger is, het liefst door zoveel mogelijk van hun vijanden, de Zwartbotten, te doden. Maar als hij Sobet, de zoon van de rebellenleider gevangen neemt, verandert alles. Sobet doet er alles aan om zijn zusje te bevrijden uit de klauwen van de Baonani. Zijn taak is duidelijk: een edele chanteren, om op die manier de vrijheid van zijn zusje af te dwingen. En Baonans troonopvolger, die behoorlijk met zijn gevoelens in de knoop zit, lijkt het perfecte slachtoffer. Maar hoe langer Sobet in Miajku’s gezelschap verkeert, hoe moeilijker het wordt hem als vijand te blijven zien.

Een verhaal over de liefde tussen twee mannen in een wereld waarin dit zwaar bestraft wordt.
