The Boss BP-1W Booster/Preamp incorporates the preamp circuits found in two classic vintage units - the Roland RE-201 Space Echo and the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble - and offers them in a single Boss compact pedal. Besides being long toted as two of the most iconic and sought after pieces of vintage gear, both the RE-201 and CE-1 are noted for their distinct analog preamps almost as well as their respective delay and chorus sounds. With the popularity of these preamp flavors still very prevalent today, the BP-1W delivers these vintage tones with the excellent build and parts quality only found in Waza Craft pedals.

The BP-1W is simple to use, easy to dial in, and has the potential to be a mainstay on a player's board. Controls for Level and Gain of course dial in volume and saturation, while a 3-way mini toggle selects between three preamp modes.

"NAT" or Natural mode provides a flat clean boost with minimal coloration, "RE" captures the warm, fat preamp sound of the RE-201 Space Echo, while "CE" introduces the bright, bell-like preamp sound of the Boss CE-1. The natural compression and hidden sonic qualities of either respective vintage unit are represented in the RE and CE modes, delivering various flavors of organic boost and distortion.

On the back, the BP-1W offers two high-quality buffer circuit options. Players can switch between a standard buffer for signal purity or a vintage buffer for a warmer tone with a smooth dynamic response. The standard buffer is active when the pedal is bypassed. Connecting a guitar with passive pickups directly to the BP-1W's input maximizes the vintage buffer's benefits.

I got the regular twin size for my toddler’s bed. Before, he had a yellow foam topper (one of the cheap ones) and a mattress protector that barely stretched to the bottom of the mattress. I LOVE that this is such a deep fit so I didn’t need to worry about it coming up a lot. We have a standard size twin mattress. For breathability, it does seem like it might trap heat- it is very warm to lay on the mattress now, but that doesn’t bother us. It is comfortable to lay on the mattress. I don’t think it is as thick as the foam topper we had, but that was expected. For a waterproof topper, it’s a pretty good fluffiness. Washing: Hours fit in our washing machine fine. However, I did have to dry it three times. You can’t dry it with anything else or whatever else is in there gets bundled up inside it. I didn’t take a star off for this because we generally have to run loads a second time in our dryer anyways, and it might be because of the weight that it takes longer to dry. overall, I am happy with the purchase! My toddler’s bed is much more “in place” with the sheets, it’s still comfortable and the cost is worth the money to me.
