Starting simply with an approachable concert-sized body, this guitar is formed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid ovangkol back and sides that produce a focused acoustic sound that anyone can fall in love with. Keep things high and tight in this easy-held body and let the Californian acoustics wash over. This Vintage Malibu’s okoume neck is fitted with a comfortable Modern “V” profile to slide smoothly in the palm for easy trips from higher to lower registers on this guitar’s shorter 25” scale length. The ovangkol fingerboard bears twenty frets the play comfortably across the 16” radius. A Vintage Viking bridge grounds strings on the body while a bone nut and tilt-back 6-in-line Fender electric-inspired headstock match on the other end for optimal stringing and intonation.
The playing experience of this acoustic comes to life with the incorporation of onboard Fender / Fishman Presys VT Plus preamp electronics featuring an undersaddle piezo pickup and internal body transducer. Embodying the full scope of this guitar’s acoustic voice, the electronics system comes together as an ode to the acoustic performer. Soundhole-mounted controls give players easy access to volume and blend controls for dialing in their own acoustic mix for many types of performance from solo recording to a live audience. Additionally, this Vintage Malibu’s innovative Performance “X” bracing pattern bolsters the overall voices and projection for audiences time after time.
