The MiniFreak Vocoder slips right into Arturia's acclaimed lineup of mini synths. Differing from its sibling, the standard MiniFreak, the MiniFreak Vocoder puts its vocoding abilities in the spotlight with a robust digital synthesizing engine at its heart. The MiniFreak Vocoder presents plenty of opportunities for synthesizing outside its vocoding, but truly, they don't call it the MiniFreak Vocoder for nothin'. A thirty-seven-note, velocity-sensitive, slim-key keybed opens the field plenty for exploration of vast musical registers.

Classic Arturia synthesizer oscillator engines line up for expressive synth modes including Granular, Sample, Superwaves, and Karplus Strong among many others. A second oscillator engine shapes these sounds into new forms with comb filter and ring mod engines, along with plenty others, to fashion exciting, new synthesized bases. A standard ADSR envelope with four modes, a second shapeable envelope, two LFOs and seven modulation sources build out this synthesizing heart for something new at every turn. Onboard arpeggiating, sequencing, and modulating makes the MiniFreak Vocoder endlessly inspirational.

The vocoding experience in question hits us with even more features to create an impressive vocoded-flavored textures, soundscapes, rhythms, and more. A sixteen-band vocoder engine is accessible via the included vocoder microphone or through any external source. What this means is you have full reign over the MiniFreak Vocoder's synthesizing engine and all the modifying functions that go with it. Shimmering pads, spectral drones, robotic choirs, and more are all well within the MiniFreak Vocoder's wheelhouse to speak in any kind of humanized (or otherwise) robotic speech.

The MiniFreak Vocoder is built out with plenty of connectivity and playability functions. For one, five-pin MIDI in/out/thru connections bring remote control to the MiniFreak while, for another, 1/8" clock sync connections work the synth seamlessly into any existing, time-synced rig. USB MIDI connection, stereo outputs, and a ¼" headphone out expand the experience even more for connection to desktop or laptop DAWs, running out to stereo sources, or silent practice with headphones.
