Libec ZFC-L Professional Zoom & Focus Control for LANC Video Cameras

When operating handheld camcorders, compact cinema setups, or PTZ architectures on a tripod, reaching up to adjust the lens manually introduces camera shake and disrupts tracking sweeps.

The Libec ZFC-L is a highly popular, broadcast-grade controller designed to provide simultaneous zoom and focus command through a single 2.5mm LANC wired connection. By clamping directly onto your tripod pan handle, this compact control engine places essential lens parameters directly under your thumb—ensuring seamless framing adjustments on live event streams, sports broadcasts, and documentary productions.

1. Dual-Function Control Surface Architecture

Unlike standard single-purpose zoom demands, the ZFC-L incorporates a highly ergonomic layout that splits your control inputs into two separate, muscle-memory-friendly movements.

  • Inverted Variable Zoom Rocker: Positioned at the natural resting place of your thumb, the fluid-feeling rocker provides proportional speed responses. Tilting the rocker gently initiates an ultra-slow "creep zoom" for subtle dramatic adjustments, while depressing it fully activates the lens's maximum servo speed for fast reframing. A specialized reverse switch allows operators to flip the zoom direction (Telephoto/Wide) to match personal style preferences.

  • Side-Mounted Focus Dial: Located cleanly on the side profile of the casing, a high-traction dial allows you to manually control the internal lens focus motors. Rolling the wheel forward or backward executes crisp, precise rack focuses without touching the glass.

2. Deep Universal LANC Ecosystem Compatibility

The ZFC-L relies on the industry-standard 2.5mm sub-mini wired protocol, offering out-of-the-box system integration with major camera manufacturers using internal zoom/focus servos:

  • Sony Camcorders: Full compatibility with FX30, FX3, FX6 (via handle inputs), alongside legacy HXR, PXW, and FDR series camcorders utilizing a 2.5mm remote terminal.

  • Canon Cinema & Pro Camcorders: Direct support for Canon’s XF-series broadcast models and modern EOS cinema offerings (such as the C70, C100, C200, or C300) when utilizing servo-driven EF/RF cine lenses.

  • Panasonic Adaptability: Features a dedicated protocol toggle switch on the body. Flipping the switch alternates internal voltage parameters, ensuring error-free communication with Panasonic's specialized remote focus and zoom inputs.

3. Operational & Field Engineering Highlights

  • One-Touch Record Trigger: At the exact center of the housing sits a highly tactile, recessed red REC Start/Stop button. This allows the operator to control recording loops instantaneously without looking away from a production monitor or eyepiece.

  • Universal High-Torque Pan Handle Clamp: Equipped with an adjustable, heavy-duty metal core clamp that wraps around standard circular video head pan bars ranging from 0.39" to 1.77" (10mm to 45mm) in diameter. This extra-wide clamping margin means it can easily mount onto thick jib arm bars, crane stabilizer weight pipes, or cage handles.

  • Generous Cable Clearance: Comes standard with a heavy-duty, shielded coiled cable extending up to 3.3 feet (1.0 meter), giving you ample slack to route lines cleanly around fluid head assemblies without catching or creating tension.

Key Technical Specifications:

  • Official Model Designation: Libec ZFC-L

  • Communication Interface: 1x 2.5mm Sub-Mini Wired Stereo Plug

  • Primary System Utilities: Proportional Zoom, Manual Focus Rotation, REC Start/Stop

  • Cross-Protocol Toggle: 2-Way Selection Switch (Sony/Canon vs. Panasonic)

  • Clamp Mounting Range: Diameters between 10mm and 45mm (0.39" to 1.77")

  • Coiled Cable Extension Limit: 1.0 meter / 3.3 feet

  • Total Physical Weight: Light and balanced at just 0.12 kg / 0.26 lbs

Alternative Configuration Note:

If you require a streamlined zoom-only solution with a unique, ultra-smooth push-button tracking rocker rather than a traditional tilting toggle, Libec also offers the Libec ZC-LP controller, which specializes purely in fluid, variable speed zoom transitions.

Why Choose the Libec ZFC-L Controller?

If you want to maximize single-operator efficiency and completely eliminate physical lens touch jitters, the Libec ZFC-L is an invaluable utility. By combining proportional zoom curves, a specialized side focus wheel, and a high-torque universal clamp, Libec provides live video crews with a reliable, studio-grade control solution that keeps your hands locked to the pan bar and your shots rock-solid.

Love love love Robeez. Best soft soled shoes for baby/toddler just learning to walk.
Size: 12-18 Months Toddler, Color: Grey Leather
I can’t even tell you how much I love these shoes for my kids. My oldest son born 2018 had a pair of Robeez, the shark kind, and I’ve passed them down through all my boys until now- now somehow one of them has gone missing, still looking. So we got these for baby and oh my gosh Robeez has upped their game! The soles are still soft enough to be pliable but have some structure to them, they fit softly enough to accommodate round chubby feet but again have some structure, and they look adorable. The quality is really high and that’s so wonderful to see this day and age when so many things are produced cheaply. These are truly lovely. And they’re very handsome. My sweet boy wore them to a birthday party at the park and they were a hit. I love this brand so much, and these shoes are so cute. I wish I were having more kids to buy more cute pairs :)

The Perfect First Shoe! Worth the Price.
My little one was just starting the stand/learning to walk and we wanted something to protect his feet while we were out of the house. Since babies/toddlers grow out of their shoes so quickly, I tried desperately to find shoes that didn't cost more than $20. However, I tried about 6 different "cheaper" shoes, all different brands, and nothing would stay on my babies feet. I finally broke down and bought these shoes and they are perfect. I ended up wasting more money trying not to spend too much money on shoes that would be too small after a couple months. It would have been cheaper for me to just buy these shoes to start. Fit wise they are great. Super easy to put on. They stay on! I appreciate the rubber portion on the sole because it gave my little one more traction when he was learning to walk. They are light way and the sole is very flexible which is important for the proper development of their feet. I just wish they made larger sizes because I am going to have to start the hunt all over for the perfect shoe once he grows out of the biggest size that Robeez sells. Save yourself time and avoid wasting money on shoes that don't stay on. Just buy these shoes!

Cute and STABLE
Size: 12-18 Months Toddler, Color: Navy Leather
This brand was recommended by a family member as being good for kids who are learning how to walk, and I definitely agree. My son had a different pair of shoes from Carter’s that fit well and looked cute, but the soles were a little too slick for an early walker despite having little rubberized dots on them. I like that these have more realistic soles, with real traction and support, but still allow the kid’s foot to flex. My son is very comfortable in them and was immediately noticeably more stable while standing and practicing walking in them. Bonus- they are super cute and this design is neutral enough to go with plenty of his clothes. My only small complaint is a little thread coming loose on one shoe, but so far it isn’t causing any issues/doesn’t seem to be unraveling anything structural. Highly recommend overall!
