Flagship ROHM DAC Chipset:-

SMSL has trusted the highly acclaimed flagship ROHM BD34302EKV DAC chipset at the heart of the D2R MK2. This chip is widely loved for its rich, organic sound with an incredible signal-to-noise ratio and ultra-low distortion performance. It is complemented by XMOS XU316 USB chipset that enables 32bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 audio signal decoding on the DAC. It helps the D2R Mk2 achieve its ground-breaking performance with an ultra-low distortion as low as 0.00013%.

Advanced Clock Processing Circuitry:-

One of the most substantial upgrades in the D2R MK2 over the OG model would be the advanced CK-04 Circuit. It’s a proprietary architecture developed by SMSL for its premium lineup. This technology utilizes a 10MHz OCXO crystal oscillator with a stability of ±5ppb, it virtually eliminates jitter across all the available digital inputs on the D2R Mk2. The D2R MK2 also supports external clock input for advanced users.

Full MQA and MQA-CD Processing:-

Unlike other DACs in the market that limit the MQA processing to just the USB input, SMSL VMV D2R MK2 supports MQA processing through its different input ports. It processes MQA and MQA-CD signals through the USB, Coaxial, Optical, and AES/EBU ports, ensuring studio-quality sound to its users across different inputs.
